  • Find a TV Control application from the manufacturer of your TV.
  • Download it and install.
  • Configure the application with the TV.

Most mainstream vendors/manufacturers have applications in the Google Play Store. If you cannot find one for your TV, you can always use a third-party applications.

  • Navigate or open Google Play Store on your Android smartphone.
  • Look for a remote control application that is fully compatible with your Television model.
  • Download and install it.
  • Configure the application with the TV.

Some of these 3rd party applications even allow you to control your TV using voice commands. How cool is that?

If your Smartphone does not have infrared capabilities, you can configure it to use Wi-Fi. Of course, this only works for smart TVs connected to the same network.

  • Find a Wi-Fi Control application from the manufacturer of your TV.
  • Download and install it.
  • Pair the phone and the TV with the application. Typically, the app includes a wizard that runs when you first open the application.
